Carrigtwohill met Whitechurch in the Sciath na Scol F4 final. The game took place in Páirc Uí Rinn on Tuesday 22nd November.  Whitechurch made a very quick start but Carrig rallied and an excellent Alan Warren point got Carrig on the scoreboard. Whitechurch extended their lead just before the half-time interval.  This lead would have been greater but for some outstanding saves by goalkeeper Shane O'Hanlon.  Despite intense pressure from our forwards the Whitechurch goalkeeper denied us on many occasions.   Carrig came out strongly in the second half and a Dale Holland free and an Emmet O'Neill goal cut the deficit. However we were unlucky to fall further behind. Carrig, buoyed on by a very vocal support, made a late surge and quick goals by Aaron Walsh-Barry, Darragh McCann, who also scored a point, and Liam Gosnell reduced the deficit to only five points.  Carrig's supporters roared their team on as the boys pushed forward searching for more scores but Whitechurch broke and scored a goal with the final passage of play leaving the final score Carrigtwohill 4-3 Whitechurch 5-8.  The boys can be very proud of their performance, not only in the final but in the group stages, winning five of their six matches, and in all their training sessions.   The boys took great inspiration from the Carrig Senior hurlers success this year as the dug deep and always gave great commitment.  The football season is finished for another year and we are now looking forward to the hurling season beginning in March.  We have already started our indoor hurling season.  This will continue until March when the County Finals will be held in Na Piarsaigh Hall. The school would like to thank Carrigtwohill GAA Club and the Parents Association for their help and financial support. On behalf of the teaching staff and pupils of Scoil Mhuire Naofa Buachaillí we sincerely congratulate the Carrigtwohill Senior County Hurling Chanpionship winners.  We were very proud as the majority of the team are past pupils of the school.  We will never forget the day that the Seán Óg Murphy Cup came into the school and the joy and celebration may inspire some of the present pupils to achieve similar success.
